The Civil Company is a digital ecosystem for construction and interior design built to bring transparency, structure, and inspiration to how spaces are planned and built in India. The platform brings together verified professionals, design inspiration, AI-powered visualisation, and educational content on a single, bilingual (English / Hindi) web application.

At its core is a location-aware professional directory covering 24 categories — from civil contractors, architects, and interior decorators to electricians, plumbers, false-ceiling, waterproofing, and solar installers — across Delhi NCR. Each listing carries verification status, ratings and reviews, work photos, service areas, and live open/closed timings, with one-tap "Get Instant Callback" and "Get a Quote" lead flows. Two product modules extend the marketplace: Spacebot AI, which turns a photo of a room into a realistic AI-generated makeover, and SpaceList, a visual gallery of real and AI-assisted design ideas.

By combining a scalable listing engine with a self-serve professional workspace, an advertising module for industry brands, and a content hub of blogs, news, and hiring guides, we delivered a platform that serves customers and professionals alike while keeping every feature free to use.

The client set out to build India’s first dedicated platform for construction and interiors — one place where anyone building or renovating a space could find trustworthy professionals instead of relying on scattered referrals, unverified listings, and word-of-mouth. Verified Professional Listings & Profiles

Every professional gets a structured profile with a unique ID, verification badge, category, city, services offered, work photos, address, service area, and timings with live open/closed status. Verification requires basic identity checks, filtering out unserious profiles and giving customers a clear trust signal.

Location & Category-Based Discovery

Users pick their city once and browse 24 service categories or search by name or UID. Category pages are location-aware and SEO-structured, with sidebar filters, pagination, and contextual guide banners that educate customers before they hire.

Instant Callback & Quote Request Flows

Each listing offers Get Instant Callback and Get a Quote actions. A customer enters just a mobile number and the request is routed to the professional, keeping the lead flow frictionless for customers while delivering qualified enquiries to vendors.

Spacebot AI - AI Room Makeover

Users upload a photo of their room, choose the room type, purpose, flooring, style theme, colour palette, and budget range, then receive a realistic AI-generated transformation in seconds. Nine room types, twelve design styles, and seven palettes are supported, and every design is published to a Recent AI Designs feed with before/after views.

SpaceList - Design Inspiration Gallery

A masonry gallery of real projects and AI-assisted concepts across bedrooms, kitchens, offices, balconies, and more. Each idea has its own SEO-friendly landing page, and the gallery links directly to relevant professionals, turning inspiration into hiring intent.

Ratings, Reviews & Trust Signals

Customers can write reviews and star ratings on any profile; aggregated scores and review counts appear on listing cards. Combined with verification badges and work photos, this gives users evidence-based signals before they commit to a professional.

Professional Onboarding & Workspace

Professionals register for free with category, city, and business details, verify via OTP, and land in a dedicated workspace to set up and manage their profile, services, photos, and timings - no admin intervention required.

Content Hub & Advertising Module

Blogs, news, and step-by-step hiring and payment-safety guides support an education-first approach, while a curated advertising module offers homepage ad cards and category-level placements to building-material and construction-technology brands, with a request-and-approval workflow.

We implemented a modular, scalable architecture built on Laravel (PHP) with a relational database structured for fast category-and-city queries across thousands of listings. The responsive, mobile-first front end is delivered in English and Hindi, and Spacebot AI integrates a generative image API behind a guided, multi-step prompt builder so non-technical users get consistent, realistic results without writing prompts.
